Steve Rogers studied with artist Harold Stevenson of the prestigious Stevenson Academy of Fine Art, and later with legendary watercolor painter and instructor Robert E. Wood.  Steve has traveled to Greece, Italy, Spain and France many times, and these experiences have had a profound impact on the color, the sense of light and place, and overall direction of his painting. Steve quotes I John 1:5, “‘God is light,’ and I paint the light, which is a reflection of God’s beauty, and it makes my work as an artist both joyful and rewarding.  I paint this beautiful land not as one who sees it every day, but as a “visitor”, who is awestruck by something fresh and new and at the same time very ancient.” Steve’s paintings have won hundreds of awards in juried competitions both in the US and internationally.
