The Philadelphia Water Color Society is pleased to announce a call for entries for their 121st Anniversary International Exhibition of Works on Paper.The exhibition will run from October 21st to November 23rd at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford, PA. Submissions open on May 3rd with an August 3rd deadline to apply. Over $10,000 in prizes with First Place (PWCS Award of Excellence) $2,000, 29 awards in all. Maureen Brodsky’s painting Uncivilized No 7 and Alicia Farris’ painting Behind the Shades were accepted in Watercolor USA 2021 at the Springfield Art Museum, juried by Nick Nelson, Director of the Springfield Art Museum, Springfield. This is the 60th exhibition of Watercolor USA, a national, annual juried exhibition recognizing aqueous media painting. The exhibition will run from June 5 – August 29, 2021, at the Weisel and Kelly Galleries.

Janine Helton’s article, “Photograph, Paint, Repeat,” was featured in the April 1, 2021 issue of Missouri Life Magazine, in the Arts and Culture section.
Janet Doll’s painting Tea Time made the finalist awards list in the Richeson 75 International Art Competition, Still Life & Floral 2021, selected by awards juror, John Wos, and is part of the online exhibition; and her painting Big Bag of Beans made the Meritorious list and will be included in the book. The Saint Louis Watercolor Society is excited to invite artists to enter their 22nd annual juried exhibition, open to STLWS members and non-members. This will be a virtual exhibition posted on the stlws.org website and YouTube from May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022.
The exhibition, juried for acceptance as well as judged for awards, is an opportunity for STLWS members to achieve Signature Status, which is awarded to a member who has been accepted into two juried shows within a 10-year period while still maintaining his or her continuous membership in the STLWS. We are honored to have Sandra Strohschein as our juror this year, an award-winning watercolor artist from Northern Michigan.
Exhibition entry will be online only. Entry Submissions begin on April 1 and ends on April 12; judging will be done between April 19 and April 23, the exhibition will be posted on YouTube on May 1 (a link to the YouTube exhibition will be posted on the stlws.org website), award winners will be posted on the stlws.org website on May 1, and the show will close on April 30, 2022. Up to two paintings per artist, completed within the last three years, may be submitted.
Please refer to the Prospectus for the STLWS 2021 Annual Juried Exhibition rules for this particular exhibit. The Prospectus can be found on the stlws.org website on the menu bar by mousing over “Exhibits” and then scroll down and select “Call for Entries.” Then scroll down the page to the STLWS 2021 Annual Juried Exhibition to see the links to both the Prospectus as well as Receiving (online registration). The entry form will require you complete all the fields for the number of paintings you are entering, including uploading a jpg image of your painting (medium size or not to exceed 4 MB) for each entry. Please include a photo of your painting that does not include the mat or frame. If the photo fails to upload, please reduce its size, and try again.
IMPORTANT: Please note that the online registration is NOT complete until you pay the registration fee by going to the menu bar and clicking STLWS SHOP on the website to pay for your submission. Entry fees are: STLWS Member, 1 entry, $21; STLWS Member, 2 entries, $31; Non-Member, 1 entry, $73; Non-Member, 2 entries, $83. You may also place a purchase order for the exhibition catalog on the STLWS SHOP tab, priced at $10.
