Janine Helton’s painting “Fearless” received the Award of Excellence I in the 2026 Illinois Watercolor Society 42nd National Exhibition by Juror Kris Parins! The exhibition runs from May 1 – May 30, 2026, at The Next Picture Show, A Fine Arts Center, 113 W. First St.

Julie Glossenger also shared some news. Manchester Arts has selected her work, The Living Pool, for their summer Splash! Exhibit. The piece is based on a photograph she took of the geothermal pools at Yellowstone National Park. The original work is an oil on canvas, which will be printed onto a banner and displayed at the Manchester Aquatic Center to liven up the pool area this summer.
