At our March membership meeting, the Saint Louis Watercolor Society invited members to enter our Small Painting Contest with one entry per member participating. The requirements were that the submission had to be an original painting executed in water media on paper, no larger than 12″ on either side including the mat. The meeting attendees voted on their top three choices. In addition to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd awards for the Small Painting Contest, a special award was given, based on the votes, for a Mini Painting which could be no larger than 6″ x 6″ including the mat.

We thank all our members who participated in this event with submissions, recording the entries and setting them up, voting, counting ballots, and obtaining the awards. And our congratulations go out to our award winners. The meeting was very enjoyable with all the painting to view and the contest made the program very exciting!
Let’s do this again and have a theme next time! This year is our 250 anniversary of our nation and maybe a patriotic theme.
This year is the 100 Anniversary of Route 66, the Mother Road. Both of these could make for exciting pictures.
