I will provide all the Yupo paper and other supplies needed for this workshop.
Since Yupo watercolor painting is an ONGOING PROCESS, I suggest you bring your own paint palette, a few brushes and a water container. This will ensure you pick up where you leave off when you get your paintings home.
If you are new to Yupo, don’t let this hold you back. Beginning artists and well-established artists will be covering the same basic techniques, brush control, color mixing, and special effects to this plastic paper. Bring reference photos if you choose, but I will have plenty.

Creative Watercolor Adventures with Yupo

This workshop will focus on the unique characteristics of Yupo, a synthetic, tree-friendly, completely versatile paper, as compared to traditional watercolor paper. Students will benefit from demonstrations, plenty of experimentation time, and individual and class discussion. Instructor Alicia Farris will supply the Yupo paper as we experiment with various subject matter from abstract to faces. We’ll also discuss the finishing and framing process with this unique surface. Each week the class will explore a different art experience in a variety of media using technical skills in watercolor, acrylic, and tempera.
