In this all-day watercolor workshop (9 am – 4 pm), Janine will show you her method of painting and capturing the essence of birds as well as how she creates fun and interesting backgrounds with a holiday theme, perfect for holiday cards and gifts.
Janine will begin the day with examples, explanations and demonstrations of her process for creating holiday-themed underpaintings. One-on-one assistance will follow as you work on your own backgrounds, “playing” with color, water and stamps to create a festive foundation for your subject.
Once the backgrounds are established, Janine will demonstrate her method of painting birds while providing explanations regarding value, color mixing, edges, control of water and pigment, and much more! During the remainder of the afternoon you will have plenty of painting time with assistance as needed.
Paper, cards and envelopes to create several small (5×7 and 4×9) pieces will be provided.
*Class size limited to 8 students, with a minimum of 5 students needed to hold the class.
*Some experience in watercolor is required.
