July Workshops!!
July 11 – “Negative Painting/Positive Results” with Janine Helton
In this all day workshop, you will explore positive
and negative shapes: what they are, how to paint
them and when to use them! Additional techniques
covered will include lost and found edges, glazing,
color harmony and more!

July 18 – “Just Clucking Around” with Jean McMullen!
Learn to loosen your watercolor painting skills by learning a variety of techniques: negative/positive painting, underpainting/layering, dripping/splattering
and much more while learning to paint a rooster! Class includes all supplies! Use my image or bring your own.
When: Tuesday, July 18
Time: 9 am – 3 pm
Cost: $85 includes all supplies to complete a ready to frame(16×20) painting!!

July 28 – “Watercolor 101” with Joyce Rothermich!
Have you ever wanted to try watercolor painting but didn’t want to invest your money for brushes and paint until you determined if this is something you wanted to pursue? This class is for you! Designed for the beginner or for an artist exploring a new medium.
Topics that will be explored: types of paint, brushes, paper and palettes. Watercolor terms and techniqes will be discussed. You will complete a monochromatic painting.
When: Friday, July 28
Time: 9: am – 3 pm with a lunch break

August Workshops
August 1 – “Light and Shadows” with Jean McMullen
Anyone recognize my house? I used a limited
palette and photographs of my home during the day to create this watercolor thinking only of light, shadows and shapes. Bring a photo of your home in full sunlight blown up to 11×17 and you can learn how I was able to do this!! I will have other home images to choose from.
When: Tuesday, August 1
Time: 9 am – 4 pm

August 15 – 16 “Beautiful Blooms in Watercolor with Janine Helton !
In this two day workshop, you will be painting
a close-focus flower. Techniques covered will
include designing a composition, creating
form using hard and soft edges; control of
paint, water and pigment, color mixing on and off the paper, values and more!
When: Tues. and Wed., Aug 15 and 16
Time: 9am – 4 pm
