Update from Alicia Farris

Hello Artists,

Just wanted to give you a “heads up”/reminder about two upcoming 2-day workshops I’ll be teaching in June and July.  If you find the workshop is full when you try to register, please be sure to ask to be put on a wait list!

ACRYLIC PAINTING: THE IMPRESSIONISTS WAYJune 22 and 23rd, 9 – 3 pm, Missouri Artists on Main in St. Charles

This workshop will cover the important elements of painting in a light and life-filled impressionistic style!  As we paint our subject matter, we will explore  artists’ styles from the Impressionists era, then will immerse ourselves in painting with some of that influence. Canvases, paints and brushes will be provided to students.  Cost of the two-day workshop is $150.  Register by calling Missouri Artists on Main at 636-724-1260.

PORTRAITS AND FIGURATIVE WORKS IN WATERCOLOR July 6 and 7th, 9 – 3 pm, Green Door Gallery, Webster Groves

Using a loose and colorful style, you will learn techniques to portray not just a likeness, but more importantly, the personality and emotion of the human face or a subject.  Portrait painting experience not at all necessary but not recommended for the “bare” beginner.  Cost of this two-day workshop is $130.  Register on my website (afarris.com) through Paypal or contact me by e-mail or phone – 417-840-9594.   I may be without internet or phone access between May 18-May 28 but I will get back to you.

By the way, the Watercolor USA 2017 exhibit will be at the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Drive, Springfield, MO 65807, 417-837-5700,  in the Weisel and Kelly Galleries, from June 3 (opening night is June 2) to August 27th.  You might just see some interesting watercolor works and you might just see my painting on Yupo, “Patience and Promises, the Women From My Life” displayed there!  🙂

Thank you and happy painting!  Alicia
