On Wednesday, June 22nd, friends of Chrystal Jackson are hosting, (posthumously) a celebration of Chrystal’s life at Parkway United Church of Christ in Town & Country, 2841 N. Ballas Road , North of Clayton Road, from 7-9 pm, in the Fellowship Hall. For many years that room was where Chrystal held her classes and did her demos.
A large selection of her work, unmatted, unframed and unsigned in some cases, but nonetheless beautiful and moving, will be offered for a donation of your desire. Her friends are hopeful that they in turn can place a few memory benches in areas close to Chrystal’s heart.
Although Chrystal transitioned last February, her friends wanted to regroup, reflect, and above all recognize and share the watercolours she created over the years. They think she would approve.
Chrystal founded the first St. Louis Watercolor Society in 1970, and the new Saint Louis Watercolor Society gave her an award plaque in 2001 for all she had done.
