You are invited to a juried exhibition, Unless, juried by Dail Chambers, May 28 – July 8, 2021, at Framations Custom Framing & Art Gallery, 218 North Main Street, St. Charles, MO 63301, 636-724-8313, featuring artwork by STLWS members Shirley Nachtrieb, Lee Walter and Linda Wilmes, and other artists.
Here is more on the exhibition:
An all media juried exhibition about the impact of each and every one of us.
Most of us have read the book. The Lorax is an icon in children’s literature, but also beyond. The storyline discusses such heady topics as greed, consumerism and conserving the environment. One memorable quote from the text is “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
We may not all be environmentalists, but many of us have a cause we believe firmly in. Perhaps we focus our attention on equal rights, or racial or cultural divides. We are all touched by different issues based on our life experiences. These are the things that affect us personally and affect our daily lives and our own personal attempts to achieve the American Dream. For our exhibit, Unless, we asked artists to share their voice, take a stand, develop their thought process, and delve into a conversation.
