Daven Anderson’s 6th Museum Opening of his Series on the Rivers

Daven Anderson’s series:  THE RIVERS: A Celebration of Life and Work on America’s Waterways opens this Saturday at the Kenosha Public Museum, 5500 1st Ave, Kenosha, WI 53140 .  It will run through October 6th.  The reception is Saturday, September 14th at 1pm.  All are welcome.  This will be the sixth of ten museum exhibitions of the series.

Last Light by Daven Anderson

LAST LIGHT, pictured above, resulted from one of my many trips aboard line boats pushing barges, full and empty, on our nation’s many navigable waterways.  The series is now 59 paintings long and shows scenes from the Port of LA to Maine.  With five more museum exhibitions, including Kenosha, there will be many more additions to the series.  Almost all of the works are large scale with the watercolors painted either full sheet or larger on Crescent watercolor board.  The oils (yes there are oils) generally are 30 x 40.  I have (currently) a 144 page full color on coated paper catalog which supports the exhibition.  As a US Naval Academy graduate, a sailor and a US Coast Guard artist I have always loved the water.  The series resulted from that love.
